Options in The Data Mine
- General Cohort – Students in the General Cohort take the 1 credit hour data science seminar in the fall and spring semesters.
- Corporate Partners Cohort – The Data Mine Corporate Partners cohort is the most popular cohort selected by students. It is a two-semester commitment in the fall and spring semesters. Each semester, students take the 1 credit hour data science seminar in the fall and spring semesters along with a 3 credit Corporate Partners project. The 1 credit hour data science seminar is optional for graduate students. Click here for an overview of the program.
- Academic Cohorts (Purdue Students Only – West Lafayette Campus) – Unique academic course opportunities to blend data science and academic disciplines.
Spring 2025 Registration Information (Students who are not currently in The Data Mine in Fall 2024)
Note: Students who are currently in The Data Mine for Fall 2024 will either have TDM courses auto populated on their Course Request Form (CRF) for Spring 2025 or will receive instructions on registration.
General Cohort: Students in the General Cohort only take the 1 credit hour data science seminar. You do not need to apply for Spring 2025 General Cohort, you can simply add the course after discussing with your Academic Advisor:
The Data Mine Seminar (1 credit). Add a course based on the number of years you have been in The Data Mine:
- First year in The Data Mine: TDM 10200 – The Data Mine Seminar II (you don’t need to take TDM 10100 first).
- Second year in The Data Mine: TDM 20200 – The Data Mine Seminar IV
- Third Year in The Data Mine: TDM 30200 – The Data Mine Seminar VI
- Fourth Year in The Data Mine: TDM 40200 – The Data Mine Seminar VIII
- Graduate Student in The Data Mine: TDM 50100 – The Data Mine Seminar
Corporate Partners Cohort: Space is very limited for Spring 2025 only registration. The Data Mine Corporate Partners cohort is the most popular cohort selected by students. Students take the 1 credit hour data science seminar along with a 3 credit Corporate Partners project; the 1 credit hour data science seminar is optional for graduate students.
