Options in The Data Mine 

  • General Cohort – Freshmen Students in the General Cohort take the 1 credit hour data science seminar in the fall and spring semesters.
  • Corporate Partners Cohort – The Data Mine Corporate Partners cohort is the most popular cohort selected by students. It is a two-semester commitment in the fall and spring semesters. Click here for an overview of the program.
  • Academic Cohorts (Purdue Students Only – West Lafayette Campus) – Unique academic course opportunities to blend data science and academic disciplines.

Registration Information 
 
General Cohort: Freshmen students in the General Cohort only take the 1 credit hour data science seminar.  You can add the course after discussing with your Academic Advisor:


First year in The Data Mine:  TDM 10100 – The Data Mine Seminar I (1 credit)

Corporate Partners Cohort:  Space is very limited for FALL 2026 only registration.  The Data Mine Corporate Partners cohort is the most popular cohort selected by students.  Students take the 3 credit Corporate Partners project; the 1 credit hour data science seminar is no longer required.
