Our products are based on “outside-the-lab” platforms, and include hand-held, wearable, emplaced, and UxV mounted sensors and detectors. Teledyne FLIR’s sensors and detectors generate feature-rich data sets that lead to accurate detection and identification of threats.  The Data Scientist is expected to understand the principles of our core technologies and conduct development and testing of algorithms to improve accuracy and reliability of sensor and detector outputs.

Institutional Data, Analytics + Assessment (IDA+A) seeks one graduate student (at 0.5 FTE or 20 hours per week) to assist with the development and launch of a new “Listening Lab” resource within our office. The Listening Lab is a new adaptable, systematic approach to elevating the student voice through focus groups, interviews, and other qualitative methods. The lab will develop, test, and implement methods for deriving trustworthy, human-centered findings based on qualitative focus group and interview data, with the goal of translating these findings into policy and program solutions to support student success. The chosen individual will use their expertise in qualitative data analysis (including but not limited to human coding, natural language processing, and application of large language models) to assist in analyzing qualitative data from the lab. The position reports to Anne Weiss, assistant director, assessment, of IDA+A, in the Provost’s Office. The individual must be able to work via a remote or hybrid (some on-campus meetings) scenario.
