The Central Indiana Chapter of the American Statistical Association is hosting a traveling short course this September on ethics and best practices in data, analytics, and AI. The course is a full day split across two Friday afternoons. You can use this for an outside event if you’d like.

 

Modern Ethical Issues and Best Practices in Data, Analytics, and AI

Led by David Corliss, PhD, Principal Data Scientist at Grafham Analytics

Two Friday afternoons: September 5 + 12, 2025 (virtual, half-day sessions noon to 4 PM ET)

 

This course covers:

– How court cases are shaping data standards

– The global impact of GDPR

– Model bias mitigation

– ASA’s new guidelines for ethical AI

 

As someone who lives in data, I believe ethics and best practices are the foundation of meaningful, trustworthy work.
